What Is Botulinum Toxin?

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1540451128694{padding-top: 15px !important;}”]Botulinum toxin is a natural and sterile substance derived from the clostridium bacterium. It blocks the release of acetylcholine, the substance responsible for transmitting electrical impulses that elicit muscle contraction. In medicine, Botulinum toxin is used to treat hyperactive muscles. It has safely and effectively been used for the treatment of strabismus (cross-eye) and blepharospasm (lid spasm) since the early 1980s. Opera uses botulinum toxin to counter the visual appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
